Soteriology

In theology, the subject of soteriology (from the Greek σωτηρία sōtēria [salvation] and -logy [“the study of”]) treats the doctrine of what salvation is, and how it is obtained.

All branches of Christianity believe that salvation consists in redemption from sin for eternal life through Jesus Christ, and that it is obtained through faith in his death and resurrection.

To explore the foundation on which these beliefs are built, and to help navigate different views on specific aspect such as predestination, justification, sanctification, and whether or not it is possible to once be saved and then lose again such a salvation, this series treats each of these aspect separately with a number of studies:

Predestination

Justification

Sanctification

Apostasy
